Masanobu Fukoaka brought the 'do nothing' (wu wei) principle of taoism to the agriculture.
His philosophy has a lot in common with permaculture. Although he didn't consider himself part of this movement, he did persue very simmilar objectives: taking care of the Earth and the human beings. Healing the soil to avoid innecesary work to the farmers that in many cases is also agressive with the environment.
His ideas are explained in the book "The one straw revolution".
